Financial Specialist Intern

As a Financial Specialist Intern at Crop Science, you will report to the Enabling Unit Lead and become actively involved in projects and initiatives that require applying financial knowledge to a wide range of situations with varying degrees of complexity.

Your primary responsibilities will be to support the Site Controllers in:

• Developing the annual operating budget for the site
• Developing annual product cost rollups for product cost standards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and error resolution
• Analyzing cost center spending and value flow assessments for consistency with the operational plan
• Developing periodic cost estimates
• Being accountable for account reconciliations and communicating significant impacts
• Collaborating with site leadership and operations teams to ensure drivers of financial impacts are understood
• Collaborating with project managers to ensure compliance with Capital versus Expense guidelines
• Conducting analysis and explaining changes in individual product standards
• Developing monthly and quarterly forecasts for Crop Protection sites in partnership with functional leaders
• Analyzing and communicating actual performance against budget and forecast
• Developing analysis and providing written feedback to the Site Controller for variances against budget and forecast

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Demonstrated alignment with Bayer's Values (Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility, and Efficiency)
• Excellent ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and with individuals from various parts of the organization
• Motivated, self-starting individual with a proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to commute daily to and from the work location in Muscatine, IA
• Willingness to work in a chemical manufacturing environment

In terms of compensation, you can expect an hourly rate of approximately between $20.75 to $58.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
