Description
As an Engineering Technician at GDIT, you will make meaningful contributions that fuel critical outcomes for complex government, defense, and intelligence projects.
Your role will involve repairing, installing, replacing, and testing electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ripping out cables, rolling back cables, removing items/equipment off the bulkhead and some foundation removals
- Using hand tools and testing equipment
- Inspecting and testing electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits
- Isolating defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment
- Replacing faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems
- Dismantling electrical machinery and replacing defective electrical or mechanical parts
- Mounting motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completing circuits according to diagram specifications
- Working from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Participating in special projects as required
- Obtaining all necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard)
- Working on and climbing ladders, working in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
- Lifting, carrying and transporting heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs
- Traveling within and outside of the continental United States for up to 20% of the time
Requirements:
- 1+ years of related experience
- Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance
- US Citizenship required
