As a supervisor on the facilities operations team, you will help design, build, activate, and maintain some of the world's most technically advanced facilities. You will operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Facilities Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Southaven and Memphis sites.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of campus-wide systems, including mechanical/HVAC, electrical, compressed air, dust collectors, plumbing tasks, and other preventative maintenance and repair programs covered by facilities operations.
- Lead and direct a team of plumbing, compressed air, electrical, and HVAC-focused facility technicians.
- Schedule daily work and prioritize assignments.
- Develop, plan, and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy.
- Understand and enforce all safety procedures of SpaceXAI, report unsafe acts and conditions, and ensure no work is performed in unsafe conditions.
- Maintain appropriate records for all trades as required.
- Understand mechanical equipment such as chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLCs, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Communicate with Manager on daily activities, projects, team morale, and concerning issues.
- Manage vendor/contractor finances, work with SpaceXAI buyers and accounts payable to assure accounts are maintained.
- Oversee a team of technicians, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 3+ years of experience with facilities management.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing budgets and third-party vendors.
- Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value.
- Experience with asset management software.
- High attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
