Registered Nurse Emergency Room

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Wesley Medical Center, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered nursing care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering patient care in accordance with standards of care defined by Wesley Medical Center
• Systematically evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
• Acquiring and maintaining current knowledge in nursing practice and education
• Monitoring patient progress toward desired outcomes
• Contributing to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborating with patients, significant others, and healthcare providers
• Considering safety and cost-effectiveness when delivering patient care
• Making decisions and taking actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner
• Participating in improving operational functions of the department
• Establishing and maintaining effective communication in collaborative relationships
• Evaluating and participating in opportunities for outstanding service
• Demonstrating knowledge of age-appropriate competencies
• Utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Securing, administering, and handling medication according to guidelines

To qualify for this role, you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days of employment)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days of employment)
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (within 6 months of employment)
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (within 90 days of employment)
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (within 90 days of employment)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (within 6 months of employment)
• Registered Nurse (RN) diploma
