Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op to join our team at Multimatic, a global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry.

The successful candidate will assist Manufacturing Engineers to prepare and maintain manufacturing bills of materials for all products, track and coordinate with Scheduling, Tooling and QC, and prepare and maintain part-numbering systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Manufacturing Engineers to prepare and maintain manufacturing bills of materials
  • Tracking and coordinating with Scheduling, Tooling and QC
  • Preparing and maintaining part-numbering systems
  • Developing and maintaining plant and equipment layouts, manufacturing flow charts, process plans, production standards, and engineering reports
  • Maintaining all current, pending and obsolete Engineering files
  • Working in compliance with TS16949 Standards
  • Formatting, compiling and generating reports, graphs, correspondence, and computer files
  • Providing performance indicators to assist in monitoring effectiveness of efforts to continually improve manufacturing processes and cost-saving goals
  • Taking photos with a digital camera and uploading to the company network
  • Developing and maintaining operator instructions
  • Coordinating the exchange of operator instructions for engineering changes
  • Providing information and reports to assist management and supervisors in the efficient operation and decision-making process
  • Advising Management of any potential problems and opportunities for improvement
  • Maintaining due diligence in regard to environmental matters and minimizing potentially harmful accidents
  • Following environmental guidelines and legislative requirements of the OHSA

The ideal candidate will have:

  • College or university enrollment in mechanical engineering
  • Supervisory and management skills
  • Interaction and communication skills
  • Knowledge of company policies and health and safety procedures
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization
  • Knowledge of assembly, tool-room and press shop equipment
  • Computer skills in databases, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Drafting and drawing skills (CadKey, AutoCad & other presentation software)
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
