Corporate Development Lead, Life Sciences

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Corporate Development leader to drive strategic transactions in life sciences and biotech. The ideal candidate combines deep life sciences domain knowledge with technical fluency in AI and a record of closing complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute Anthropic's corporate development strategy in life sciences, covering acquisitions, investments, and partnerships.
• Build and maintain a target pipeline across AI-native companies in life sciences.
• Lead end-to-end transaction processes, from sourcing through diligence, negotiation, signing, and integration.
• Partner with research, product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to assess opportunities.
• Assess build/partner/buy tradeoffs and competitive dynamics.
• Structure and negotiate complex deals.
• Build financial models and valuation analyses.
• Drive post-transaction integration.
• Build relationships with founders, VCs, pharma and biotech corporate development teams, and academic research institutions.
• Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the board.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience leading complex M&A, investment, or partnership transactions.
• Understanding of the drug development lifecycle.
• Strong technical fluency in AI and software.
• Analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to engage credibly with scientists, engineers, executives, and regulators.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Clear writing and speaking skills.
• Deep interest in AI safety and Anthropic's mission.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, or investing, with at least 5 years focused on life sciences, biotech, or healthcare technology.
• Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, MD, PharmD) or an MBA.
• Experience working at a pharmaceutical company, biotech, CRO, or life sciences software company.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applied to biology, chemistry, or clinical operations.
• Established network among life sciences founders, healthcare VCs, and pharma business development leaders.

Logistics

• Annual salary: $425,000-$600,000 USD.
• Location-based hybrid policy: 25% office time.
• Visa sponsorship available.
