Cook (Part Time - Hours As Needed)

We are seeking a part-time Cook to join our Food and Nutrition Services team at High Tech High. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, distributing, and packaging food items at our central kitchen for distribution to school sites.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a food service environment and be able to work flexibly to support our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, bake, package, store, and serve food items in a timely manner
• Accurately read and utilize standardized recipes
• Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment and tools
• Record and maintain production records, time and temperature recordings, and other documentation
• Participate in cleaning and maintenance activities
• Assist with special events and meetings
• Attend training and meetings as required

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of food service experience
• Valid California Food Handlers Permit
• Ability to understand and communicate in English
• Basic math and accounting skills
• Intermediate interpersonal relations skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, lifting, and bending

Salary: USD 20.6-25.11 per hour
