Focus Interpreting is seeking a talented American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This role involves providing exceptional interpretation services that facilitate communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in a variety of professional settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for interactions in medical, educational, and social contexts, ensuring all parties understand each other fully.
- Utilize your ASL skills to convert spoken language into sign language and vice versa in real-time situations.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards during all interpretation assignments.
- Continuously enhance your ASL and English knowledge to maintain high-quality interpretation.
Requirements:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and proficient command of English.
- Preferred certification as an ASL interpreter, with demonstrated experience in professional settings.
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture, community norms, and communication methods.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while ensuring accuracy and clarity in communication.
