Description
We are seeking a Procurement Sourcing Senior Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, gaining approval, and executing purchasing "Model and Supplier Strategies" for assigned commodities/suppliers with $300M ~ $500M in annual spend.
The Sr. Commodity Buyer will have significant impact on HDMA financial performance by establishing part and supplier strategies through understanding of the Global and North American supply base, manufacturing process, and critical part design elements.
Key accountabilities include:
- Developing and executing purchasing strategies for assigned commodities/suppliers
- Researching and monitoring industry trends for development of Model or Supplier Strategies
- Gaining consensus on new model supplier selection
- Managing multiple model developments through correlation activity with design and Honda Motor Japan
- Building supplier relationships
- Establishing and achieving logical new model cost targets
- Achieving annual mass production cost improvement goals
- Ensuring accurate and timely quotation processing
- Effectively managing projects that support business needs
- Creating and implementing continuous improvement activities
- Mentoring and developing entry-level associates
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business or equivalent experience, and at least 2+ years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
