Description
NVIDIA is seeking an HPC Performance Engineer in its NVHPC compilers & tools group. The successful candidate will analyze High Performance Computing (HPC) applications to improve performance by driving compiler optimizations and library enhancements.
The role involves:
- Analyzing the impact of compilers and optimizations on HPC application performance
- Evaluating how the compiler and runtime can enhance performance on CPU and CPU/GPU platforms
- Collaborating with application engineering to communicate compiler limitations and guide performance improvements
- Porting HPC applications to various platforms and programming models
- Assessing the impact of NVHPC package components, device drivers, and system configurations on application performance
Requirements include:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related engineering field
- 5+ years of programming experience
- Proficiency in Fortran, C, C++, and parallel programming techniques, particularly for compilers
- Experience with OpenACC, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, and Standard Language Parallelism
- Strong performance analysis and tuning skills, with a broad understanding of parallel applications development tools and runtime environments
- Solid mathematical foundations, including linear algebra and numerical methods
- Expert interpersonal skills, logical problem-solving approach, and excellent communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Deep understanding of machine architectures and micro-architectures
- Experience with debugging, porting, and assembly language programming
