You’ll join our Mobile Platform team, which owns the infrastructure, tooling, and engineering standards for our customer-facing mobile experiences. You'll help shape the direction of mobile engineering, improve the developer experience, and reduce technical complexity.
A Day in the Life:
- Partner with the Engineering Manager, Principal Mobile Engineer, and Head of Mobile Engineering to deliver Zopa’s mobile strategy.
- Help shape the technical direction and standards for iOS across Zopa.
- Design and evolve shared modules, APIs, architecture, and developer tooling.
- Identify technical risks early, using data, profiling, and observability to improve performance, reliability, and developer experience.
- Stay hands-on, delivering production-quality Swift and SwiftUI code.
- Raise the capability of other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
About You:
- Strong experience building and maintaining customer-facing iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Deep knowledge of iOS development, including concurrency, performance, memory management, testing, accessibility, and security.
- Sound architectural and API-design judgement.
- A proactive engineer who identifies problems and shapes practical solutions.
- A collaborative teammate who raises the capability of others.
Added Bonus:
- Background in fintech, banking, or a regulated environment.
- Experience building shared libraries, platform capabilities, or design systems.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of UIKit.
- Proven impact improving mobile CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
- Confidence using AI-assisted development tools.
Additional Information: We value flexible working arrangements. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week, with the option to work from abroad for up to 120 days a year.
