Description
We are seeking a Senior High Voltage E/E Engineer to join our team. As a Senior High Voltage E/E Engineer, you will be responsible for systems engineering activities related to the development and integration of high voltage systems. Your focus will be on specifying, designing, integrating, verifying, validating, and resolving issues related to HV systems and batteries in various development and testing applications.
You will operate according to project engineering processes, with particular attention to requirements management, functional safety, compliance with HV safety requirements, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle. Your work will involve adhering to current directives, international standards, electrical safety and high voltage regulations, internal technical standards, emerging technologies, and specific customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Design high voltage systems and subsystems for integration into development and testing applications, including HV batteries, Battery Management Systems (BMS), battery packs, battery modules, charging systems, HV distribution systems, power electronics, and electrified powertrains.
- Develop and manage HV system architectures, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and customer specifications.
- Define, manage, and maintain requirements, interfaces, and traceability for battery and high voltage systems throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international project teams to ensure effective integration of HV systems.
- Work closely with global engineering teams to share knowledge, best practices, and support international projects.
- Interact directly with customers to gather requirements, clarify technical specifications, and present solutions related to batteries and HV systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for battery systems, high voltage systems, and test systems.
- Support the integration of HV components such as batteries, chargers, inverters, DC/DC converters, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and related control systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable high voltage safety standards, electrical regulations, battery safety requirements, and customer specifications.
- Participate in hazard analysis, system-level risk assessments, and safety reviews of HV systems.
- Support the definition and implementation of HV safety concepts, including electrical isolation, interlock systems, grounding, protection strategies, and safe operating procedures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and commissioning teams to ensure effective industrialisation of solutions and proper transfer to production and installation environments.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
- Identify and resolve complex issues with HV systems through root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability, safety, and performance of systems.
- Promote the reuse of best practices, methodologies, and solutions developed in other projects and within global organisations.
- Prepare technical instructions and engineering documentation, considering functional requirements, planning, quality, and safety.
- Provide technical clarifications to customers regarding system requirements, functionality, interfaces, and HV safety aspects.
- Perform breakdown of requirements, functions, and system architecture into engineering work packages.
- Continuously analyse project requirements, customer use cases, operational scenarios, and functional specifications.
- Plan, coordinate, and review integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities for battery and high voltage systems.
- Support verification and validation activities for HV systems, including test planning, test execution, result analysis, reporting, and resolution of issues.
- Contribute to initiatives for optimising HV system performance, improving reliability, and technological innovation.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma and/or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 4-7 years of experience in Battery Systems, High Voltage Systems, Electrification Systems, Energy Storage Systems, Automotive Systems Engineering, or equivalent sectors.
- Experience in developing battery systems, HV power distribution systems, charging systems, power electronics, or electric propulsion systems.
- Solid knowledge of high voltage electrical systems, HV safety principles, electrical protection concepts, and electrified vehicle architectures.
- Familiarity with Battery Management Systems (BMS), charging technologies, and energy storage systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and systemic approach skills.
- Availability for national and international travel.
- Fluent business English language skills.
