Description
We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Plant Bowen. As a Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for all maintenance activities associated with System Ownership, including technical support, outage planning and scheduling, routine maintenance planning, project coordination, and budget tracking.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute system maintenance strategies
- Monitor maintenance strategy via preventative maintenance tracking and document equipment failures and maintenance strategy violations
- Administer the work order management system, prioritizing work orders, providing detailed work scopes, coordinating, and executing the weekly work plan
- Support and review Root Cause Analyses on system issues
- Track and provide input to budget development and monthly projections regarding contractor labor, materials, parts, and equipment needs
- Utilize computer applications such as Maximo, OIS, Word, and Excel to monitor work order progress, parts status, and labor utilization
- Plan, schedule, and execute outage work scope plans for forced, planned, and maintenance outages
- Execute major maintenance or replacement activities, directing and coordinating assigned maintenance crews and contractor personnel
- Analyze critical situations within System equipment to determine competent solutions to identified problems
- Support the Best Practices Program by developing and implementing best practices
- Provide technical direction and expertise to maintenance personnel
- Establish relationships with key vendors and SCS personnel, gathering and analyzing acceptance data on new or rebuilt equipment
Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent desired but not required
- 2-5 years of experience in operations and/or maintenance of electric generating plants
- Experience with supercritical coal-fired units preferred
- Previous system ownership and budgeting experience a plus
- Contract or GPC resource coordination preferred
- Thorough understanding of plant equipment, systems, and operation
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to make decisions and demonstrate strategic planning skills
- Experience working on electrical systems, such as transformers, switchyards, switchgears, breakers, battery systems, and UPS systems
