As the Centre of Excellence for Infocomm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT & SS), GovTech develops the Singapore Government's capabilities in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Application Development, Smart City Technology, Digital Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.
The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) in Singapore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support its ongoing digital transformation initiatives. This role involves a mix of product and project build, including co-sourced development with vendors or in-house development, with a specific focus on the product build of Legal GenAI applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Ownership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex features, ensuring that technical designs are robust, scalable, and aligned with long-term goals.
- Engineering Excellence: Drive the adoption of high-quality engineering standards, ensuring that software systems are maintainable, secure, and reusable.
- Design & Implementation: Take an active role in architectural discussions and squad-level technical decisions, advocating for best practices in modern software development.
- GenAI Integration: Lead the product build of Legal GenAI applications, successfully incorporating LLMs, RAG architectures, and Graph DB patterns.
- Stakeholder & Dependency Management: Independently navigate work-related dependencies and communicate technical concepts effectively to both senior leads and legal domain experts.
Requirements:
- At least 7 to 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale, high-availability software systems.
- Deep experience in modern full-stack web application architecture and development.
- Proficiency in TypeScript for both frontend and backend development, and Python specifically for backend systems integrating GenAI capabilities.
- Hands-on experience in Generative AI (GenAI) development, including working with Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG patterns, Graph DB patterns, and building AI-driven features.
- Strong hands-on experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines exclusively using GitLab CI within the SHIP-HATS ecosystem.
- Able to hold your own in conversations with legal professionals, product owners, vendors, and senior leadership, presenting complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- You create structure where none exists and drive progress without waiting for perfect conditions or complete information.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in public sector, legal, or highly regulated environments is advantageous.
