Description
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team at Samsara, a pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud. You will help define the future of physical operations and work on a team shaping product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and run with them. You will define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, from backend services and APIs to the customer-facing UI. You will design and ship full-stack features end to end, partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous, real-world problems into clear technical plans and measurable outcomes, and raise the bar for the engineers around you through code reviews, design reviews, technical mentorship, and by setting a standard for quality, velocity, and craft.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, 8+ years of experience in software design and development, strong full-stack fundamentals, proficiency in modern languages and frameworks, demonstrated experience leading cross-team or cross-org projects, and experience building AI-powered or data-driven products.
In terms of compensation, the annual base salary range for this position is $154,800-$212,850 CAD. We also offer a flexible working model, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more.
