Description
We are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our friendly and motivated team of staff working in the Pre Assessment department at Thornbury Hospital. This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality nursing care and lead on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients. They will use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary, and administer medication safely and monitor patient response.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality nursing care and leading on patient assessment, planning, and evaluation
- Making timely and appropriate decisions using advanced clinical knowledge
- Administering medication safely and monitoring patient response
- Delegating tasks effectively and managing workload
- Upholding a culture of safety and compliance with infection prevention and risk reporting procedures
- Acting as a key contact for patients and their families
- Liaising effectively with the multidisciplinary team
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Active NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult)
- Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team
- Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursing role desirable
