The Engineering department oversees all Agoda's ML and software related requirements. Our goal is to enable and increase Agoda's business through creative approaches and the implementation of powerful resources such as operational and analytical databases, ML driven solutions, queue systems and data monitoring tools.
As a Staff / Lead Data Engineer, you will lead the team technically in improving scalability, quality, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data and ML processes. You will analyze data to help us make better decisions, design/build/test tools, libraries, pipelines, and platforms to help Data Science and Business teams launch experiments in Production.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team technically in improving scalability, quality, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of our existing Data and ML processes
- Analyze data to help us make better decisions
- Design/build/test tools, libraries, pipelines, and platforms to help Data Science and Business teams launch experiments in Production
- Work with experienced engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate many large-scale data management / analysis / ML tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems/engineering/related field
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 6+ years in data/ML engineering
- Expert in designing/writing/maintaining data pipelines and systems while ensuring data quality
- Expert in SQL, Python3, and JVM based programming language – ie, Java or Scala
- Expert in software design/design patterns/best practices, functional programming and object-oriented programming
- Be comfortable navigating the following technology stack: Python3, Scala Spark, Hadoop, SQL, S3 etc.
- Familiar with general Machine Learning concepts and common models
- Familiar with statistical analysis concepts
- Analytical problem-solving capabilities & experience
