Description
As a Lead Developer (Salesforce), you will play a critical role in shaping the technical delivery of Salesforce solutions across Ofgem. You will provide hands-on leadership to development teams, setting standards, guiding design decisions and ensuring delivery of high-quality, secure and scalable applications.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the design, development and delivery of Salesforce solutions, leveraging platforms such as Service Cloud and Public Sector Solutions.
- Setting technical direction and coding standards, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Overseeing the development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing and deployment, ensuring adherence to best practice and governance standards.
- Defining and implementing test strategies, including automated testing approaches using tools such as Playwright, BrowserStack and Azure DevOps.
- Ensuring the quality, security and resilience of Salesforce applications through code reviews, assurance processes and testing standards.
- Managing integrations between Salesforce and external systems, using APIs and middleware to support seamless data exchange.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across product, architecture and delivery teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Driving continuous improvement in development practices, including DevOps integration, automation and modern engineering approaches.
- Providing technical assurance and oversight of supplier and systems integrator delivery, ensuring adherence to standards and frameworks.
- Mentoring and developing developers, contributing to capability building and the wider engineering community.
Requirements:
- Significant experience delivering Salesforce solutions within enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in Salesforce Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC) and integration patterns
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing using tools such as Azure DevOps and Playwright
- A strong understanding of secure, scalable application development and modern engineering practices
- The ability to lead teams, mentor developers and influence technical direction
Relevant certifications such as Salesforce Certified App Builder and Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II are expected (or willingness to obtain).
