Description
ABC7 KGO-TV, the Bay Area's leading news provider, is seeking an accredited meteorologist or experienced weather anchor on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate will produce and present daily weather forecasts for newscasts, digital, and social platforms. This involves using weather software systems to create forecasts for various newscasts and the KGO-TV/ABC7 24/7 live stream.
The role requires shifts on weekday or weekend mornings or evenings, depending on staff vacations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and present daily weather forecasts for newscasts, digital, and social platforms
- Create forecasts for the KGO-TV/ABC7 24/7 live stream
- Use weather software systems to generate accurate forecasts
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology
- Accreditation from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) is preferred
- Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area
- Prior experience in on-air weather reporting
- Strong on-camera presentation skills, with a solid resume reel
