Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a full-time Legal Counsel to join their Legal Team in Madrid, Spain. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Europe and LATAM Legal and work in a hybrid setup, with three days in the office and two days remote.
The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and support on various matters, including contract review and drafting, employment law, corporate governance, and litigation. They will work closely with other departments, including Finance, HR, Localisation, and Facilities, and collaborate with international colleagues across Europe, LATAM, and the US.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements for Spain and LATAM
- Providing legal advice on employment matters in Spain, including employment litigations and internal policy drafting
- Drafting and reviewing corporate documents for corporate matters
- Conducting legal research on regional laws and regulations relevant to the video game industry
- Providing legal support in case of local litigations and working closely with external counsel
- Collaborating with other departments to provide legal input on daily projects
The ideal candidate will have:
- A fully qualified senior lawyer (Spanish law)
- Extended experience in an in-house legal department or law firm advising international companies
- Experience managing complex commercial transactions and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
- Sound understanding of commercial law and transactional work
- Strong focus on employment law and corporate governance
- Business-focused approach and ability to partner effectively with local and international teams
- Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
