Staff Software Engineer, Identity Administration (Full Stack)

Okta's Identity Governance (OIG) organisation is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join the Identity Administration team. As a Staff Engineer on the OIG Identity Administration team, you will be involved in development, design, and maintenance of products serving enterprise customers at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead development of user-facing features for Identity Administration, from UI components to API and data persistence layers.
• Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers to translate complex administrative workflows into simple user experiences.
• Build and maintain scalable web applications using React and modern state management libraries.
• Design and implement performant RESTful APIs and backend services in Java.
• Ensure high code quality through comprehensive unit and integration testing.
• Participate in technical design sessions and on-call rotations.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional experience in full-stack development of production-grade web applications.
• Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Strong experience with Java (Spring/Dropwizard) and/or Golang.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API principles, JSON handling, and secure communication.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and JWT.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with tools like Splunk or SignalFX.
• A keen eye for design and experience working with design systems.
• Understanding of building and deploying services across isolated infrastructure units.
