Engineering Technician

Leidos' Defense Logistics & Sustainment is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their team supporting multiple weapons systems programs. This position is designated as Mission Essential.

The role involves short-term CONUS and OCONUS deployments, assembly and integration, system sustainment activities, supporting test event activities with test setup, operations and documentation, and providing related training within the assigned area of operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the customer in overseeing and monitoring the maintenance and sustainment program, including scheduling and performing services, hardware configuration, hardware/software installation, and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
• Collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers and logisticians to ensure effective program execution.
• Perform and contribute to Root Cause Analysis and advanced troubleshooting beyond the end-user level, including issues related to software, hardware, cabling, electrical systems, and network infrastructure by solving complex problems.
• Recommend courses of action to customers, end-users, and internal team members based on experience and technical knowledge.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Understand customer expectations to provide mission-focused support aligned with program values and objectives.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of internal materials and process specifications through a working knowledge of industry standards.
• Exhibit discipline, adaptability, attention to detail, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to foster collaboration.
• Communicate with supervisors, managers, and quality about issues affecting quality of productivity.
• Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted U.S. passport (Blue Book).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work long shifts outside of normal business hours in adverse weather environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Demonstrated experience with hand tools, basic power tools, and basic electrical diagnostic tools.
• Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting drawings/documents such as operating instructions, work instructions, and blueprint data.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as required.
• Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within independent and/or team environment to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an AS9100 Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment.
• Previous work experience in the Aerospace and Defense Assembly, Integration & Test environment.
• Previous work experience in Defense Logistics and Sustainment.
• Experience with U.S. Army Air and Missile Defense operations.
• Familiarity with U.S. Army physical security standards, as well as COMSEC and CCI handling and usage practices.
• Costpoint/Solumina Windchill experience.
• IPC WHMA-A-620 is a plus.
• Security + is a plus.

The pay range for this role is $69,550.00 - $125,725.00.
