Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptive Sonographer to join our team at Mile End Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. The Ultrasound Service at Mile End Hospital is expanding as part of a new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), responsible for a wide range of subspecialties (non-obstetrics) such as General Abdomen, Gynaecology, MSK, small parts and head and neck.
The post-holder will work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team in Imaging, liaising with those involved to ensure that appropriate imaging, reporting and management of the patient is provided when and where necessary. They will maintain a high professional and technical standard of ultrasound imaging at the newly established Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Mile End Hospital which will be a 7-day service with 12-hour days Non obstetric service.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in Imaging
- Liaise with those involved to ensure appropriate imaging, reporting and management of patients
- Maintain high professional and technical standards of ultrasound imaging
- Participate in the 7-day service, with 12-hour days
- Potential to rotate through Mile End Early Diagnostic Centre (EDC), The Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital
Requirements:
- Post Graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound
- CASE Accredited Ultrasound qualification
- Current and up-to-date state registration through a regulatory body (HCPC; NMC or GMC)
- High level inter-personal and communications skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines
- Experience of breaking bad news to patients
- Computer literate
