Mission Control Team Engineer

The Mission Control team within Spotify's Podcast Platform Product Area builds core infrastructure for processing and distributing podcasts and other creator content across Spotify and beyond.

As Spotify's creator platform grows, we're expanding systems to bring new content and experiences onto Spotify, while helping creators distribute their content more broadly.

At the center of this evolution is our Distribution API, enabling creators and partners to manage, distribute, and monetize their content on Spotify.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve backend systems for moving creator content into and out of Spotify at massive scale, designing reliable infrastructure.
• Expand the platform to support new content formats and distribution standards.
• Lead complex technical initiatives with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams to evolve platform architecture and identify opportunities to simplify systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain platform service reliability.

Requirements

• Professional experience building backend systems with strong Java experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS and relational databases like MySQL.
• Understanding of platform and distributed systems, with experience building APIs or services at scale.
• Adaptability and experience with AI-powered developer tools.
• Ability to thrive in fast-moving environments and communicate clearly.

• Based in New York or Los Angeles with flexibility to work from home.
