Description
If you're looking for a career that shines brighter, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. You'll work in a global technology organisation within HSBC that builds modern engineering solutions to support the bank's wider strategy and leads the DevOps and Agile agenda.
Your career opportunity
You'll join a team of around 450 colleagues across seven locations, working in flexible, self-organising teams in a hybrid environment where experimentation and learning are encouraged. The team creates and evolves digital platforms and client-facing products, including the Single Dealer Platform for MSS, HSBC Evolve, tools that support global Sales teams, technology for creating and distributing research content, next-generation AI and ML insights, and HSBC-wide internal social collaboration tools.

- Identify, track, and reduce technical debt, ensuring the right balance between new features and sustainability
- Design solutions for new items, ensuring alignment with technology guidelines and constraints
- Collaborate closely with teammates through pairing to share knowledge and raise engineering quality
- Contribute to building and improving platforms and products that prioritise web standards, accessibility, and speed of delivery
- Embrace experimentation, learn from controlled failure, and adapt quickly when approaches don't deliver the intended outcomes
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Willingness to learn and work with multiple programming languages
- Demonstrable experience in at least one programming language
- Experience or strong interest in Java and JavaScript for client-side and server-side development
