Description
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Manage complicated, cross-platform production issues involving Operating Systems, Networking and Databases, including services hosted on external platforms.
- Operate and continuously improve monitoring and alerting, and support incident response and service restoration.
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes, embedding DevSecOps principles into operational workflows.
- Agree and develop SLOs/SLIs across engineering teams and with Product Owners, and use them to drive reliability improvements.
- Engage in new features and builds at inception to ensure operability, stability, and delivery quality before go-live.
- Build and maintain application & infrastructure performance tooling, and take steps to improve overall production stability.
- Develop and enhance the existing observability tooling stack (logs/metrics/traces) to improve detection and diagnosis.
- Contribute to the wider bank community to share technology, run trials on new tools, and scale successful practices.
Requirements:
- Experience in IT Operations / Production Support / Reliability Engineering
- Solid track record delivering agile projects at scale, ideally in FinTechs or Investment Banks (IBs).
- Ability to drive operational improvements and influence change in a complex technical environment.
- Experience building and configuring monitoring/alerting, e.g. AppDynamics, Geneos, Datadog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch.
- Software engineering experience in one or more of: Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, JavaScript, with a focus on automation/tooling.
- Experience developing or operating enterprise technology in the cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure, ACS.
- Knowledge on tools and software including Grafana, Docker, OpenAI, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Google Stack Driver
- Fluent in Mandarin and English.
