Description
We are seeking a Radiographer to join our team at Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.
The successful candidate will perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensure high-quality images are produced, adapt techniques to meet individual patient needs, and provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing diagnostic radiographic procedures such as general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, and mobiles
- Producing high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis
- Adapting techniques for patients with varying needs, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and those with limited mobility
- Providing a safe, dignified, and person-centred service
- Monitoring patients' conditions during procedures and responding to any signs of deterioration
- Ensuring equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively
- Assisting in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies and digital systems
- Collaborating with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- A BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
- Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment
- A good understanding of IR(ME)R, health and safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area is desirable
