Description
AVL Test Systems, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer I to join their team in Michigan. The successful candidate will commission test systems, integrate subsystems, and focus on testing and application development. The role involves troubleshooting complex problems, interfacing with customers, and developing solutions with team input.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison and company representative with customers
- Commission test cells or systems, including setting up and troubleshooting test and measurement systems, implementing and tuning complex control loops, integrating auxiliary equipment, and creating commissioning documentation
- Write and implement custom tests
- Provide technical support to the organization and customers
- Develop and present training
- Travel up to 40% for the position
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- No years of related experience required, but experience in test automation equipment is preferred
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes
- Proficient software skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of PC operations, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking
- Proficient hardware and software troubleshooting skills
