Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Tile team, which maintains a collaborative editing tool that enables designers and merchants within Target to design and develop new products. As a Senior Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain collaborative editing features for Target's designers and merchants. You will also connect the Tile application to Target's product and materials data sources, integrate the Tile application into the PLM ecosystem, and help scale the Tile application as it onboards a large cohort of new users.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain collaborative editing features for Target's designers and merchants.
- Connect the Tile application to Target's product and materials data sources.
- Integrate the Tile application into the PLM ecosystem by building search, notification, and reporting capabilities.
- Help scale the Tile application as it onboards a large cohort of new users in 2027.
- Improve reliability and observability of our application to help maintain a high engineering quality bar and excellent user experience as we grow.
Requirements:
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience, including experience with React/Typescript, relational databases (particularly Postgres), GraphQL, Kafka, and common enterprise backend stacks.
- Demonstrates strong enterprise architecture fundamentals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of common testing frameworks/patterns for front-end systems.
- Working knowledge of package-specific configuration and deployment, along with the ability to build custom solutions.
- Designs new testing methods and resolves routine and non-routine technical issues with minimal assistance.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in core development platforms within own domain.
- Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities.
- Clearly communicates Agile concepts to partners within the product team.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work on the team and/or guests.
- Writes and organizes code using multiple computer languages, including distributed programming and understands different frameworks and paradigms.
- Delivers high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with broad impact.
- Influences and applies data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise.
- Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education.
