Backend SE I

We are seeking an ambitious, experienced, driven, and solution-oriented individual to join our custom development and professional services team. As a Backend SE I, you will collaborate with multiple teams to deliver solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Work with the team to develop product features that get delivered to 820M monthly active users.
• Take ownership of a product feature and be responsible for its quality.
• Write clean code with proper test coverage.
• Review other people's code and ensure it meets company standards.
• Design and develop features that can scale to 100K+ RPS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
• 1-3 years of medium to large-scale server-side software development experience.
• Good knowledge of CS fundamentals: data structures, time complexity of algorithms, databases.
• Good knowledge of a backend programming language like Java, Python, Node, or Clojure.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor).
• Knowledge of Posix compliant Operating Systems.
• Experience in writing Unit, Functional & Regression tests.
• Experience in working with a distributed version control tool (Git).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethics and team player with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of functional programming (Clojure).
• Experience with Yugabytedb, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or Postgresql at scale.
• Experience with benchmarking systems for performance and failure detection.
