Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders straight to their doorsteps. You will be the face of Sainsbury's at every doorstep, making customers feel valued through a thoughtful, friendly, and helpful delivery service.
You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition. You will also complete checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised, and that customers' shopping is secure before setting off.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering customer orders on time and in great condition
- Providing excellent customer service and making customers feel valued
- Driving a larger vehicle safely in different locations
- Completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy and clean
- Moving containers weighing up to 15kg and delivering shopping to a variety of properties
- Communicating with customers and keeping them informed of any delays or changes to their order
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full UK/EU driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Right to Work eligibility in the UK
- Friendly and welcoming demeanour with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers
- Ability to drive a larger vehicle safely in different locations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment
- Ability to use initiative, solve problems, and make safe decisions while out on the road
