Description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer to develop next-generation electronic products supporting various business segments, including handheld devices, notebooks, desktops, servers, automotive, and consumer products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background in product development and manufacturing, with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for inventing the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to product design execution individually or by leading a team of internal contributors, outside suppliers, and Product Design Engineers.
  • Define mechanical architecture and develop products from concept to production.
  • Prepare early design concepts and product architecture working with fast-paced industrial and consumer product marketing cycles.
  • Drive design aspects of mechanical systems, including Structures, Displays, Acoustic, Battery, Antenna, and Thermal Systems.
  • Research groundbreaking technologies, materials, and processes.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Design to invent innovative products.

Requirements:

  • BSME or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in product and mechanical design.
  • Experience designing a broad range of products.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Excellent 3D CAD experience with software such as Creo (ProE), Catia, Solidworks, or Unigraphics.
  • Understanding of CTF dimensioning and GD&T.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques, with a good grasp of finite element analysis theory and mechanical engineering analysis.
  • Flexibility working in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes like casting, plastics, sheet metal, etc.
  • Background in leading resources, including consultants, component suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Experience working with supply chains and manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with processes to realize Industrial Design requirements, including quality materials and finishes, with a background in Human Factors and Quality being a plus.
