The Role

Engineers at Brilliant work in small, elite teams alongside colleagues from Product, Design, and Data to achieve the best possible outcomes for learners and the business. Responsibilities

• Bring new features from conception to completion, contributing code across the entire stack to help people learn more effectively
• Be mindful of the big picture from both technical and business perspectives, ensuring the team builds the right thing and builds it right
• Exercise a high degree of autonomy and technical authority on a team that trusts you to do what's right for users
• Contribute to a culture of excellence within the team, setting high standards for candor and mutual accountability
• Advocate for initiatives that improve developer experience for engineers and user experience for users

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in web-focused software engineering
• Meaningful experience going both deep and wide across the domain
• Motivated by building robust, maintainable, AI-interoperable software systems that drive user and business outcomes
• Capable of working across the stack, owning feature implementations end-to-end
• Believes in using the right tool for the job, writing code for humans, not computers
