Description

Electronic Arts is looking for a Technical Artist to join the EA SPORTS NHL team in Vancouver, British Columbia. The team is responsible for creating on-ice experiences that connect gamers around the world through play.

As a Technical Artist, you will play a critical role in advancing how the team delivers world-class experiences. You will report to the Technical Art Director and be responsible for helping drive quality at scale, owning runtime performance and optimization across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with rendering engineers and art leads to build, test, refine, and debug visual quality and performance
  • Drive quality at scale and optimize runtime performance across multiple platforms
  • Work at the intersection of creativity and technology, combining technical expertise with artistic vision

Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years of games production experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science)
  • Effective communication skills with different audiences (artists, engineers, managers)
  • Proficient in visual or textual scripting/programming (Shader Graphs, Blueprints, Python, C#)
  • Experience with graphics debuggers/profilers (PIX, RenderDoc) and memory/runtime resource management
  • Solutions-provider with a focus on testing and debugging technical issues
  • Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques
  • Willingness to learn and solve new problems
  • Proficiency with commercial game engines/editors (Unity/Unreal) is a plus
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (coding agents) is a plus
