As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience. Your typical day will include:
- Greeting guests and helping them find what they need
- Executing daily tasks to achieve business priorities, such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and maintaining the sales floor
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas
- Adjusting to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
- Operating power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
- Learning and executing operational procedures, such as setting and organizing merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas
- Following all Target policies and safety procedures
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
