Guide In The Hide Volunteer

As a Guide in the Hide Volunteer at WWT's Caerlaverock site, you will play a crucial role in engaging visitors with the wetlands, helping them learn about the organisation's conservation work and the diverse wildlife present.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming visitors to the hide and providing information about the species they can see
• Assisting with wildlife species identification
• Recording sightings data in a logbook
• Helping visitors use optical equipment and identification guidebooks
• Informing visitors about events, talks, and activities at the site
• Maintaining the hides, including tidying, cleaning, and organising equipment

No prior experience is required, but you should be confident in talking to the public, have a basic knowledge of UK bird species, and be physically fit to patrol the reserve in various weather conditions. You will receive full training and support to excel in this role.
