Description
In this role, you’ll partner with Body Interior Engineering and cross-functional teams supporting the Bronco and Ranger programs. Your primary focus will include instrument panels, floor consoles, and door trim. You’ll also collaborate with teams responsible for flooring, dash-wall insulation, body exterior, sheet metal, door seals, and electrical systems, including wiring and electronics interfaces. Together, you’ll help ensure quality in fit, finish, and overall system performance.
Responsibilities
- Investigate customer and production quality concerns using warranty claims, customer and dealer feedback, plant data, returned parts, and other quality information.
- Review warranty claims and customer comments daily. Partner with the Central Triage Team to classify claims accurately, and contact dealerships as needed to clarify diagnoses, repairs, and parts returns.
- Drive interim containment actions (ICA) and permanent corrective actions (PCA) for concerns raised through warranty, executive escalations, social media feedback, technical hotlines, and other sources.
- Take ownership of customer-critical issues through resolution, including root-cause analysis and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Create and manage quality-improvement projects in IRIS/SIMPSN, track actions to completion, and communicate support needs through Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) quality leaders and Functional Quality Reviews (FQRs).
- Support the Warranty Center Triage Team by accurately binning claims and preparing clear, accurate Project Objects (POs).
- Support assembly-plant quality activities, including stop ships, stop builds, campaigns, audits, first-time-through issues, ergonomic concerns, and other production priorities.
- Partner with Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) engineers, suppliers, and Variability Reduction Teams (VRTs) to resolve supplier and subsystem concerns.
- Lead plant trials and support design changes, running changes, and engineering releases that improve quality, cost, fit, or supplier performance.
- Initiate or support WERS engineering concerns and alerts and contribute to current-model design projects and vehicle launches.
- Maintain subsystem- or VFG-level quality documentation and present updates at daily plant-quality reviews, VRT report-outs, and Vehicle Quality Reviews.
- Keep supervisors, peers, and cross-functional partners informed of priorities, progress, risks, and support needs.
