Job Description

Anthropic's Data Center team is responsible for delivering physical infrastructure for large-scale AI models. As a Data Center Electrical Engineer, you'll lead electrical design across Anthropic's US portfolio, developing reference designs and specifications for build partners.

Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

Lead electrical design of critical data center equipment across the US portfolio.
Develop and maintain electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and technical specifications.
Perform engineering studies, including short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, load flow, and power quality analysis.

Prefabrication & Modular Delivery

Drive Anthropic's prefabricated and modular electrical strategy.
Design for offsite manufacture and onsite assembly.
Standardize modular electrical designs across sites.

Partner, Vendor & Utility Coordination

Review and approve electrical design packages, submittals, and shop drawings.
Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify electrical equipment.
Coordinate with local utilities and interconnection/transmission operators.

Delivery, Construction & Commissioning

Define project scope and provide technical support during construction.
Coordinate and oversee implementation of data center infrastructure.
Test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.

Requirements

10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities.
Familiarity with US electrical codes and standards.
Experience with prefabricated and modular data center electrical infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Nice to Have

Direct project experience delivering data centers in multiple US markets.
Track record building modular prefabricated products in electrical or mechanical areas.
Background in medium-/high-voltage distribution, on-site generation, or energy storage integration.
