About the Role:
As a Staff Product Security Engineer at Tide, you'll play a crucial role in protecting our products by diving deep into mobile and web app technologies to proactively hunt for vulnerabilities. You'll be part of the Tide Security Engineering team, which consists of three core areas: Product Security, Threat Detection & Response, and Identity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly analyse mobile and web app technologies to understand feature development and proactively identify vulnerabilities.
- Ensure security best practices are applied consistently across our cloud environment.
- Conduct threat modelling and guide developers in secure design principles.
- Help remediate vulnerabilities through strategic initiatives, writing patches, or creating actionable vulnerability tickets.
- Serve as a subject matter expert across various security areas, particularly in Application Security.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers to raise the security bar across the organisation.
- Leverage automation and security tools to integrate security into our CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements:
- Passion for security and resilient software development processes.
- Experience in hunting for vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications.
- Comfortable explaining security issues to product owners, engineers, VPs, and executives.
- Keen follower of Infosec trends and new industry tools and automations.
Nice to Have:
- Breadth and depth of knowledge across AppSec.
- Proficiency with Burp Suite or similar attack proxies.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Experience with securing cloud-native applications.
- Hands-on experience writing proof-of-concept scripts.
