The Data Analytics Analyst, Business Support role is part of the Power Delivery Business Support Team at Southern Company. The team supports administrative, financial, and technology functions associated with the construction of Georgia Power transmission and distribution assets.
The Data Analytics Analyst provides analytical and technical support to Power Delivery Construction leadership by transforming operational and financial data into actionable business insights. This role develops reporting, automation, and data-driven solutions that improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and support construction operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to support operational and financial decision-making
- Extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple systems to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Designing and implementing automated reporting and business process solutions to improve efficiency and data accuracy
- Partnering with Construction Operations, Supply Chain, Business Support, Digital, and Technology teams to address business challenges through analytics
- Developing and maintaining queries, scripts, and data solutions to enhance visibility into project costs, productivity, and resource utilization
- Ensuring data integrity, consistency, and governance across reporting and analytical processes
- Communicating analytical findings and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, experience in data analytics or a related field, and proficiency with SQL and reporting tools such as Power BI.
The position requires strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, as well as effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
