Engineering Manager, Hardware Platform Security

Job Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Security Engineering group within Data Center Security Engineering at Anthropic. This role involves owning the roadmap for platform security engineering, growing the team, and ensuring the security posture of our compute platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of platform security engineers covering firmware research, OS and kernel hardening, platform trust integration, and server manageability firmware.
• Own the platform security roadmap, focusing on hardware roots of trust, secure and measured boot, attestation, firmware supply chain, and host hardening.
• Partner with infrastructure, fleet, and compute teams to integrate platform controls into production environments.
• Manage relationships with silicon vendors, OEMs, and compute providers on security requirements and vulnerability management.

Requirements

• 10+ years in systems security, with 5+ years focused on firmware, hardware, or OS-level security.
• 5+ years as a people manager of security or systems engineers, including hiring and developing senior engineers.
• Expertise in secure boot, measured boot, TPM, attestation protocols, UEFI and BMC firmware, and Linux kernel and OS hardening.
• Experience owning technical roadmaps and making prioritization decisions.
• Ability to work with silicon vendors, OEMs, and cloud providers on security requirements and remediation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing mixed teams of full-time engineers, contractors, and vendor engineers.
• Hands-on background in OpenBMC, DRTM, or confidential computing primitives.
• Record of upstream contributions or maintainership in Linux, OpenBMC, or similar communities.
• Experience securing large-scale HPC or AI training infrastructure.
• Firmware vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or fuzzing background.

Logistics

• Annual salary: $485,000 - $625,000 USD
