Description
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on engineering manager to lead the Snyk API & Web engineering organisation, a group of several technical teams building key technology capabilities for our product which helps enterprise and non-enterprise customers stay secure.
The role will be focused on solving challenges including:
- How we keep scaling the product as we onboard larger, more demanding enterprise customers, without compromising on reliability or the customer experience.
- Delivering with both velocity and quality: building a robust system, automating as much as we can, and steadily paying down technical debt.
- Keeping support and day-to-day operations sustainable, in close partnership with the product team.
You'll spend your time:
- setting priorities and direction with the product team, and turning them into plans the teams can execute
- managing engineers across several disciplines
- providing regular feedback, coaching and mentoring, and building a strong engineering culture
- guiding the technical direction through architecture and design reviews, and shaping how the teams build with AI coding agents, from tooling to review practices and quality guardrails
- staying close to customers, including getting directly involved in complex support cases
- owning delivery and operational health
You should apply if you:
- have experience managing and mentoring engineers across several disciplines, ideally including team leads or managers
- have a strong technical background and can challenge and empathise with architectural decisions
- have built and run a SaaS platform for enterprise customers, and are comfortable owning its reliability
- have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and want to embed AI in how we build, test and operate
- have a track record of delivering with both velocity and quality, and of cultivating a strong engineering culture in an iterative environment
- are comfortable working directly with customers, support, sales and product teams
- can manage multiple priorities and make clear trade-offs
