As a Software Development Test Engineer at Cisco, you will deliver software with benchmarked quality and customer happiness, enabling faster customer adoption.
You will use your expertise and creativity for innovative product recommendation and solutions, applying knowledge of Cisco's business strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and executing system test strategy across end-to-end workflows and integrations
- Applying AI/ML-based testing approaches such as test generation, test optimization, anomaly detection, and failure prediction
- Leveraging Copilot and GenAI tools to accelerate test development, refactoring, documentation, and root-cause analysis
- Debugging complex network problems and defining solutions
- Working on network automation, algorithmic thinking, and analytics applications derived from customer use cases
- Collaborating effectively with teams across geographies, direct customer interfacing, and stakeholder management
Requirements:
- Strong software test engineering methodology and process knowledge
- Excellent knowledge and testing skill in Optical technologies
- Deep understanding of customer deployments, operations, and the ability to translate brown field/green field deployments into test strategy with high efficacy
- Experience with Optical Line Systems & Subsea Networks
- Experience in test engineering concepts and methodologies including test planning, test case design, test execution, and test automation
- Experience with automation (TCL, Python), automation test tools, and methodologies
- Excellent experience in Layer-0, Layer-1 traffic generators and analysers
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented with a high degree of accountability, dedication, and responsibility
- Typically requires MS/BS in EE/CS combined with 4-9 years proven experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Industry certification such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JCNA/JCIE
