As Engineering Manager II, you will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, a designer, and data scientists, building intelligent products that use machine learning and AI.
Responsibilities
You will take ownership of the payment intelligence products already built and work with your team and product manager to decide what to build next. You will be accountable for the quality, delivery, and operation of everything the team ships, and look after your people through 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Shipping products: working with your team to support changes to completion, delivering consistent positive impact across your product area
- Developing talent: hiring and growing engineers into being the best engineers they can be, while maintaining a supportive and engaging team culture
- Raising the technical bar: insisting on high standards of technical design and implementation, and ensuring systems are operationally excellent
- Managing project work while managing stakeholder expectations
- Planning and prioritizing impactful technical investment initiatives for your team
Requirements
- Professional experience in coding with Python and Ruby on Rails for backend, and JavaScript/React on frontend
- Commitment to building reliable, well-tested systems
- Enthusiasm for working in a strong culture of experimentation, testing, and learning
- Ability to effectively communicate technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with collaboration and cross-functional work
- High agency: ability to take ownership of problems, help resolve them, and adapt to a constantly changing environment

Salary Information
- Base salary range: £101,600 - £152,400
