General Counsel

You'll run legal at Firecrawl, overseeing strategy, risk posture, policy, and the team. The company operates in a rapidly evolving area of technology, with complex legal issues surrounding web data access, AI training data, and copyright.

Responsibilities:

• Set Firecrawl's legal strategy and risk posture
• Own the company's position on web data access and defend it to customers, counterparties, and regulators
• Run corporate and board legal, including financings, governance, and equity plans
• Lead privacy, security, and compliance strategy alongside the CTO
• Steward the company's open source posture
• Advise People and Operations on employment and contractor matters
• Build and lead the legal team
• Represent Firecrawl in policy conversations on web data access and AI

Requirements:

• 12+ years of legal experience, including time running or helping run legal in-house at a venture-backed technology company
• Experience in corporate, financings, and governance, as well as commercial, product, data, and IP
• Strong understanding of web data, AI, and copyright issues
• Ability to give business advice, not just legal cover
• Experience leading lawyers and non-lawyers
• AI super user
• Membership in good standing in at least one US state bar
