Description
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Integration Engineer with deep Azure expertise to integrate cloud services across Azure and Microsoft 365 GCC environments, enabling secure, scalable, and compliant solutions for development, testing, and enterprise modernization.
This is an Azure-primary role. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus, as the engineer will support secure integration between Azure, AWS, and on-premises systems. The role also requires hands-on experience integrating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into cloud applications and engineering workflows.
Primary Responsibilities
- Cloud Integration & Engineering: Integrate Azure services and Microsoft 365 GCC/GCC-High capabilities into enterprise environments to support application development, testing, and production readiness.
- Configure and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and resource groups to support integrated cloud solutions.
- Support hybrid identity environments, including Azure AD/Entra ID and AD Connect, ensuring reliable synchronization and access between on-premises and cloud systems.
- Support secure cross-cloud integration between Azure, AWS, and on-premises systems.
- Identity, Access & Security Integration: Implement identity-driven integration approaches using Entra ID, MFA, SSO, RBAC, and role-based access models to ensure secure system-to-system and user-to-system interactions.
- Apply cloud security best practices across Azure, Microsoft 365, and AI services to ensure proper governance, data protection, and compliance.
- Support integration of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS resources across Azure commercial, GCC, and GCC-High environments.
- Engineering Collaboration & Automation: Collaborate with developers, architects, and engineering teams to design and test integrated Azure services, AI-enabled applications, and multi-cloud solutions.
- Automate cloud platform documentation, provisioning, and support workflows using Azure tools, scripting, infrastructure as code, and Power Platform automation.
- Evaluate emerging Azure, AI, and SaaS technologies to support continuous improvement and integration opportunities.
- AI Integration and Automation: Integrate AI and generative AI services, such as Azure OpenAI, into enterprise applications and workflows through secure APIs and approved cloud environments.
- Develop and test AI-assisted solutions for document processing, information retrieval, and workflow automation, including prompt design and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) where appropriate.
- Apply data privacy controls, access restrictions, output validation, and human review to AI solutions; evaluate response quality, latency, and cost before production use.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and eight (8) years of general IT or IT engineering experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Azure Portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and infrastructure as code tools such as ARM templates, or Terraform.
- Hands-on experience supporting Azure resource management, monitoring usage, enforcing governance, and optimizing integrated cloud workloads.
- Deep knowledge of Azure services, Microsoft 365, identity platforms, and cloud security configurations.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI or generative AI services into applications or automation workflows, including API integration, prompt design, secure data handling, and validation of AI-generated outputs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Azure Administration, Azure Development or Power Platform (Fundamentals/Associate/Developer/Architect).
- Experience integrating cloud services within HHS or similar federal agencies.
- Experience supporting or integrating solutions across Azure commercial, GCC, and GCC-High environments.
- Background in evaluating and implementing emerging Azure, and AI technologies, particularly those tied to identity, collaboration, and automation.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions in federal or regulated environments, including familiarity with model evaluation, RAG, and applicable data protection and authorization requirements.
- AWS Experience is a plus.
- Experience configuring and managing AWS resources such as EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, and CloudWatch; proficiency with the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, and CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing AWS IAM, least-privilege access, encryption, secrets management, and audit logging for AWS workloads and cross-cloud integrations.
- Experience designing or supporting secure integrations across Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments.
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Development).
