Description
The Assistant Manager (Academic Quality Advancement) plays a key role in advancing academic quality through quality assurance and enhancement initiatives, data analytics, systems development, governance support, and student engagement activities.
The successful candidate will manage projects, deliver high-quality analytical and operational outputs, coordinate stakeholders, and support technology- and AI-enabled approaches to advancing academic quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, workflows, procedures, and user manuals for surveys, evaluations, annual reporting, review exercises, and other quality-related activities.
- Lead and coordinate surveys, projects, initiatives, and operational activities, ensuring effective planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, governance compliance, and timely delivery.
- Manage the collection, validation, cleansing, integration, and analysis of student survey results, institutional datasets, and quality-related information.
- Conduct statistical analysis, benchmarking, performance reporting, dashboard development, and evidence generation to support institutional reporting and decision-making.
- Prepare analytical reports, presentations, committee papers, management reports, briefing materials, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Coordinate and support academic quality initiatives, student partnership, advocacy, and engagement activities.
- Build productive partnerships with academic departments, faculty members, students, support units, and relevant offices.
- Support the development, implementation, enhancement, and adoption of systems, dashboards, analytics tools, automation initiatives, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Apply data analytics, statistical, business intelligence, and programming tools to deliver management insights and improve processes.
- Maintain documentation, records, audit trails, standard operating procedures, and knowledge repositories.
Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience in higher education, academic administration, quality assurance, or related fields.
- Proven track record in project management, survey administration, data analytics, reporting, governance support, or quality assurance activities.
- Ability to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data, apply sound analytical judgment, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes effectively under tight timelines.
- Supervisory experience involving task allocation, coaching, monitoring, quality review, and staff development would be advantageous.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, project management, planning, coordination, prioritisation, and organisational capabilities.
- Sound professional judgment coupled with attention to detail, integrity, accountability, ownership, and commitment to accuracy, quality, and follow-through.
- Expertise in data management and analytics, including data validation, quality assurance, information integrity management, statistical analysis, survey analytics, data modelling, benchmarking, performance reporting, data visualisation, dashboard development, and evidence generation.
- High proficiency in one or more analytics, statistical, business intelligence, visualisation, or programming tools.
Duration: 2 years contract (renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
