Social Worker - Weekend Working Required WCC624350

Salary

GBP 44,331 - 56,154 per year

Apply on Westminster City Council

Description

As a Social Worker with our Hospital Discharge Team, you will make a powerful contribution to Westminster's success. Based in St Mary's Hospital, you will work closely with health colleagues within an acute setting, undertaking assessments of need and developing support plans to help patients with their discharge from hospital. You will also undertake safeguarding investigations and Mental Capacity Act assessments, and work with carers and other professionals to minimise and manage risk while helping each patient to maintain their chosen lifestyle.

The role involves working five days a week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. You will work as part of a team for three days a week, and although you will be the only Social Worker on site over weekends and holiday periods, a Duty Manager will be available remotely to provide support.

To be successful in this role, you should have a CQSW/Diploma in Social Work, a Degree in Social Work or its equivalent, be registered as a member of Social Work England, and have some post-qualifying experience in a relevant Local Authority or Health setting. You will have well-developed knowledge of relevant legislation, a good understanding of the principles of personalisation, independence, and choice, and experience of working with older or physically disabled people in a Social Services Duty System.

We offer a range of benefits, including flexible working patterns and Agile working. The Council is a Disability Confident Employer, and we guarantee an interview if you have declared a disability in your application and meet the essential criteria of the job.
