Elementary Art Teacher .5 FTE

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI.

We are hiring an Elementary Art Teacher to ensure students receive world-class instruction focused on art in a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate passion for and expertise of art
• Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
• Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or in art practice
• Previous experience working with children
• Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a specialty endorsement
• Previous teaching experience in an urban setting
• Training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies
