Risk & Compliance Associate - Engine by Starling

Engine is Starling's software-as-a-service (SaaS) business, the technology that was built to power Starling, and two years ago we split out as a separate business.

As a Risk & Compliance Associate, you will be a key member of the Engine Risk & Compliance Team working to ensure that we operate within the Risk Framework and in line with our Policies and that Engine effectively identifies, assesses and mitigates Risk.

Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying potential risks to the organisation
• Supporting the identification, assessment and monitoring of risks across Engine
• Arranging Engine Committees and producing Management Information for Engine and Group Committees and the Engine Board
• Undertaking periodic horizon scanning, identifying potential risks or changes and escalating relevant matters
• Supporting client due diligence activities
• Performing routine sanctions and initial client screenings
• Assisting with initial third-party risk assessments
• Monitoring mandatory compliance training requirements
• Maintaining key compliance registers
• Working closely with other departments and teams across Engine to support risk management and compliance activities

Requirements:

• Understanding of operational risk, compliance, due diligence and internal controls
• Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Focused and committed to ensuring the best outcomes for clients
• Able to collaborate effectively and own matters to delivery
• Self-motivated and able to work in a highly autonomous environment
